Professor Jefferson Moura was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During childhood, his love for sports carried him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Considered a significant sport promise, Jefferson Moura received his Black Belt in 1999. And as expected by the BJJ community, a few years later, Professor Jefferson Moura got podium positions for four years in the most prestigious tournament of the sport nowadays, the World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship.
BJJ Heroes website states Jefferson Moura is among the most prestigious Gracie Barra family representatives. Extremely talented Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete, victorious in both World and Brazilian championships, Professor Moura took on the gigantic task of substituting Master Carlos Gracie Junior and Professor Marcio Feitosa as Head Instructor of Gracie Barra Headquarters in Rio de Janeiro after the famous trainers moved to the United States.
After eleven years in that position, Professor Jefferson Moura also moved to the United States to expand the excellency and presence of Gracie Barra, now in Colorado. The Gracie Barra team is very proud to have him, a 6th Degree Black Belt, as the Head Instructor of Gracie Barra Flatirons, CO.
Even if his rank didn’t talk for itself, Professor Jefferson Moura combines two aspects that put Gracie Barra Flatirons’ instruction on another level. The teaching experience of having over 50 Black Belts under him and being a Physical Education graduate.

Jefferson Moura is the regional director of Gracie Barra in Rio de Janeiro and is dedicated to creating an incredible environment inside Gracie Barra Flatirons for women, men, and kids. Staying true to what he describes as his mission: “Take Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Everyone and keep the Legacy alive.”
